About the chapter

A home for Tanzania's health information professionals

AHILA Tanzania is the national chapter of the Association for Health Information and Libraries in Africa, a non-profit professional body founded in August 1984.

The chapter is a registered non-governmental organisation. We support the people who run libraries and information centres in health settings — so that doctors, nurses, students, researchers and the public can find reliable health information when it matters.

A health library is not a room full of books. It is the moment a nurse finds the guideline she needs, or a student finds the study that changes his thesis. That moment is our work.
